Our Approach
Our Story
OUR STORY:
Dan and Maggie met in May of 2012 and both share a love and passion for the outdoors. Every year since they met, you can find Dan and Maggie exploring the Hoh Rainforest and/or the Hoh River whether it is hunting, fishing, or adventuring off the beaten path. Together they have a created Maple Creek Outfitter, which has been designed and catered to provide our guests the same feelings and experience as when we explore it ourselves. The Hoh is simply magical. The Olympic Peninsula and its rugged back country has been the back yard, and home to Dan Boyd for 40 plus years, providing the perfect opportunity to explore the land and the natural resources it provides. Dan is an avid archer, rifleman, and well educated in field experience as well as native wildlife activity.
When the opportunity presented itself in late 2018, Dan and Maggie teamed up with Chuck and Susie Velie to purchase 112 acres along the Hoh River. They all had a common goal of providing an intimate outdoor experience for those looking to disconnect themselves from the everyday life and reconnect with nature by offering an incredible outdoor experience. Chuck Velie, (son of Gary and Beth Velie) is the great-great grandson of John Huelsdonk, more commonly known as the Iron Man of the Hoh. This property has been in the family for many many generations. It is our goal to preserve the heritage of this property while drawing tourism and helping local businesses attract customers. We believe that this is an investment in our community that rewards us today and leaves an invaluable resource for future generations.
Maple Creek Outfitter is dedicated to creating the best outdoor experience for their guests including comfortable accommodations, award winning food, and an environment that is rich in beauty and bounty.
